2026 All Star Readathon
The annual All*Star Readathon event, run by the Friends of the Glen Rock Public Library, generates funds for children's events throughout the coming year. The All*Star Readathon helps enhance the children's book collection as well as provides financial support for special events like the Summer Reading Program, MP Music for Toddlers, Winter Scene Craft for Kids, Sensory Playtime and many more programs! Your contribution to the All*Star Readathon provides essential financial support which makes our Library a special place for learning and fun for children of all ages!
All pre-school and elementary school children are encouraged to participate to the best of their ability regardless of how they participate in Glen Rock Schools (i.e., homeschooled children are welcome to participate). Participation and reading level awards are based on the total number of minutes read and will be given to successful participants. Apart from individual recognition, the highest participating Pre-school or Elementary School in Glen Rock (based on number of participants) and the highest participation rate per grade in each school will be also recognized. Please note this year’s shortened time frame due to Spring Break; goals for awards will be adjusted accordingly.
The Annual 2026 All*Star Readathon begins on Sunday, March 1, 2026 with a reception for participants and their sponsors at the Library from 2 - 4 PM. Join us for refreshments, registration help and information about the Readathon. The program will include “Read Alouds” of favorite stories by various members of the Community. The All*Star Readathon reading continues until Saturday, March 22, 2026. The last day to submit donations and minutes read is on Friday, March 27, 2026.
